have a spooky weekend

Trick or treat?

Have a spooky weekend x

1 soul mate + you + love = forever?

Okay after quite a few very simple blog posts here is some serious stuff. A huge question and one that generally generates a few disagreements.

Do YOU believe in soul mates and loving one person for the rest of you life?

I think the misconception is the idea that we're supposed to love and be with that same person and share the same bed with the same person our entire life and I just don't believe in it. I believe it can happen but I don't believe its the only way to go. Maybe have someone for 5 yrs, another person for 5 yrs and then maybe that guy for 10 yrs or another for 20… Life is long if we are lucky and I don’t feel like love is something you should not have any limitations on.

Yes, love might last forever but you don't always live with the person you'll love forever. You can love that person for the rest of your life, but you might love someone else along the way.

Whatever your views are have a stunning weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday xx

even when your sad you should smile

Even when your sad you should smile. I've had a couple of not so good days and some not so great news recently and its taking a little longer than usual to pick myself back up.

You have a choice in life. You can lay down and get walked over or you can keep pushing through, keep on your feet and keep moving. We all have our challenges. We all have those moments which make you go to one knee for a little bit but you have to get up and keep moving.
I'm going to smile and keep on moving :)

songs that get stuck in your head

I've had this song stuck in my head for 3 days.

They see me rollin'
They hatin'
Patrollin'
they tryin' to catch me ridin. dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
My music so loud;
I'm swangin'.
They hopin'
That they gon' catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.
Tryin' to catch me ridin' dirty.

support system

You just won $5000 on the weekly scratchie you buy yourself, you know the one that your mum nags you about cause you should be saving for a home deposit not wasting money on scratchies. Your excited, you can't believe it, nothing like this every happens to you. Who do you call? Best friend, husband, partner, mum (just so you can say I told you so)?

You've had a shit morning, your alarm didn't go off, your late, your bus ticket ran out so you had to pay the drive with 5 cent pieces and everyone is glaring at you. You want to be invisible, you want to get off the bus and go home, you want to crawl back into bed and cry. Who do you want a hug from? Best friend? Husband? Partner, mum (mum's give the best hugs)?

You just told the funniest joke you have ever told. Everyone around you has literally pissed themselves with laughter and are voting you funniest comedian of all time. Who do you want to re live this moment with? Who do you want to make laugh so hard they cry? Best friend? Husband? Boyfriend? Mum?

There used to be someones name I answered these questions with. Someone who was my support system, someone I celebrated with, cried with, laughed with. Someone I thought I would never replace... but I have. Thank you Sarah for being there for me when I needed it. Thank you for listening, celebrating, crying and laughing with me. Thank you for stepping up and making helping me be strong. Thank you for helping me get through the weekend.

Have a fantastic time in Hong Kong you deserve the break and the time to re balance and re energize you. Bon Voyage xx

be positive

Be positive, let the light in, in with the good out with the bad, look to the future and not to the past, be thankful, be happy, be surprised, don't dwell, look up, move forward, be positive.

the little things

A while ago Miss Zoe Foster from Primped blogged about loving yourself sick. Inspired i wrote this on my bathroom mirror and it makes me remember i am a super duper amazing individual with loads to offer and who looks super cute. It may seem a little 'lovo' but it is one hell of a boost to my self confidence and makes me smile! Also remember love starts with loving yourself so in the words of Miss Foster love yourself sick xx

hair cut

A few weeks ago i blogged about how i went a little mad and cut my own hair right after paying $$$ at Joh Bailey for a cut and colour. Luckily i did a fairly good job and in Sarah's opinion I didn't have to get it fixed. Here is the after shot:
I'm not sure i love the lighter colour, i didn't realise how much my brows stood out till this picture. I'm learning to love it but if i could go back in time i wouldn't of got my hair coloured. Also i MUST book in for a facial as my skin is freaking out.

my weekend

Over the weekend i caught up with my Snowies (Grandparents), bought a new painting, did the Bay Run with Cassie and Sarah, cleaned out my fish tank, changed my sheets, watched What happens in Vegas and got food poisoning! This week i am quite busy in fact I'm all booked up. Have a great week!!!

have a great weekend!

being environmentally aware

Last night I left the city quite late after finishing some shopping. I waited patiently for the bus at a different bus stop to my usual one. There was young guy smoking a couple of meters from everyone else. He finished his cigarette, extinguished it under his shoe and left it on the ground. A few minutes passed and his bus came he took a step towards it as he did the older woman next to me touched him lightly on the arm. She asked him if he was going to pick up his cigarette butt. He replied 'no there are a few 1000 others down there why don't you pick them up?' Then he walked away onto his bus.

I'm not a smoker nor am i an Eco warrior however I am environmentally aware and do try to make my footprint smaller, support environmental causes and dispose of my waste thoughtfully. Imagine if that guy was environmentally aware and had picked up his cigarette butt, imagine if everyone was environmentally aware of their actions? The world might be in better shape.

The morale of this blog is to be environmentally aware of your actions however small they may be. Think about it.

pink shop day at David Jones

Breast Cancer is one of the most common causes of cancer-related deaths of women in Australia.

On Thursday 7 October profit from all purchases in all David Jones stores nationally will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
I have my list ready and am going to shop up a storm and help contribute to this worthy cause.

weekly ritual

Its 11.36pm on Sunday and I'm there's a smile playing on my lips. No I'm not drunk though I've had a few drinks but that was much earlier on in the evening. Its cause I'm happily doing the one thing I really enjoy... reading the Sunday Telegraph on my couch. Its a ritual for me, I usually don't read all the articles, I can't even stand glancing at the travel section (I really wish I could have a holiday but my credit card says no), I usually focus on the sport section to help with my NRL tips and I love reading movie reviews and Zoe Fosters article when it appears. I make myself a cup of peppermint tea and read it from cover to cover. There's no separating the sections, it just like one big book for me with lift outs. I read the paper first then look at the junk mail that came in it, then body and soul and lastly the Sunday magazine. After I've finished the whole paper usually sits on my coffee table for a week or 2 and I'll pick it up and re read it every now and then.

What's your weekly ritual?

my weekend

For us lucky NSW residents it was the labour day long weekend! I had planned a very productive weekend (and to take more photos) but the wet weather made it a very lazy weekend instead. I volunteered to sell merchandise and collect money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation at the South Pacific Dance Championships, ate thai and watched The Hills with Sarah, went suit shopping, caught up on sleep, watch the Dragons win the grand final with the fantastic 6 at The Oaks, went to bootcamp and had my first mango of the season.
How was your weekend?

Apologies these photo's are terrible but has anyone else seen this too? Do you know why the Queen Elizabeth statue outside the QVB is all dressed up? She looks mighty fancy, I hope she is going somewhere nice.
